1. Classification

The amount of titanium used and the development level of the titanium industry are important indicators of a country's comprehensive strength. Our country's titanium resources are extremely rich, which provides unique advantages for the development of our own titanium industry and expansion of applications. 

According to data from the Ministry of Natural Resources, China’s proven reserves of titanium ore in 2019 were 850 million tons, and increased of 24 million tons from 2018.

Titanium is processed into various products and used in many fields due to its excellent corrosion resistance, high specific strength and good processing performance. Titanium tube is one of the very important varieties in the titanium family, and it is widely used. 

In 2019, China's titanium tube output was 10,150 tons, and in 2020, China's titanium tube output was 9488 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 6.5%.

Since the performance of pure titanium is similar to that of ordinary steel, the production process of titanium pipe is similar to that of steel pipe to a large extent. The application of titanium pipes has always been mainly to replace steel pipes, but the application of titanium pipes has always been restricted by cost. 

With the technological transformation and upgrading of the titanium sponge plant, the efficiency is further improved, and the cost of titanium sponge is reduced, which directly leads to the reduction of the cost of titanium processing materials and promotes the market application of titanium materials.

In 2019, China's apparent demand for titanium tubes was 8430.8 tons, a year-on-year increase of 19.01%; in 2020, China's apparent demand for titanium tubes was 7848.2 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 6.91%.
